Management Team

Mike McCracken has extensive leadership experience in the energy industry through his career of developing and managing oil and gas assets.

Prior to the formation of Freedom Energy, McCracken served as CEO of Flat Creek Resources where he led the team through its initial fundraising and played an integral role in the evaluation and development of its Permian Basin asset position.  Prior to Flat Creek, McCracken served as Chief Operating Officer for Black Mountain Oil and Gas where he oversaw acquisition and divestiture transactions, led the technical and operational teams, and was responsible for the negotiation of partnerships with major oil companies to facilitate trades and asset sales.  In 2017, Black Mountain successfully sold its Delaware Basin assets to Marathon Oil for $700 million.  In 2018, Black Mountain sold its mineral position to various parties and a portion of its Pecos County assets to XTO Energy for an undisclosed amount.

Before joining Black Mountain, McCracken held various positions in both private and public companies including Vice President of Development for Enduro Resource Partners, Staff Engineer at Pioneer Natural Resources, and Engineering Specialist at ExxonMobil, where he started his career in the Upstream Research Company.

McCracken earned a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science, and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.

Chandler Quisenberry has spent his entire career focused on the energy and finance sectors with a specific expertise in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets financings.

Prior to the formation of Freedom Energy, Quisenberry served as CFO of Flat Creek Resources, where he led the finance, accounting and capital raising functions for the company and was a key contributor in the assembly of its Permian Basin assets.  Prior to Flat Creek, Quisenberry was a Principal at Avista Capital Partners, a $6 billion private equity firm with offices in Houston and New York.  At Avista, Quisenberry was responsible for sourcing, executing and managing energy related investments with a particular focus on the upstream, midstream and oil service sectors.  He served on the board of multiple portfolio companies and played an active role in all day-to-day operations and aspects of Avista’s energy investment business.

Prior to Avista, Quisenberry was an investment banking analyst in the energy groups of Credit Suisse and BMO Capital Markets, where he supported the firms’ activities in corporate advisory and financing transactions for domestic and international energy companies.

Quisenberry earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Texas at Austin.

Mike Gregory has significant industry experience in project management, asset development and acquisitions and divestitures including high-value corporate transactions.

Prior to the formation of Freedom Energy, Gregory served as VP Land for Flat Creek Resources, where he sourced and closed numerous transactions to establish the company’s asset base in the Permian Basin.  Prior to Flat Creek, Gregory worked at XTO Energy as a Senior Landman.  He was responsible for overseeing Land functions related to development of an integral portion of XTO’s Midland Basin assets, including executing acreage trades to enhance the company’s portfolio.

Previously at XTO, Gregory managed both conventional and unconventional fields in East Texas and North Louisiana and facilitated several transactions in the Acquisitions and Divestitures department.  During his time working A&D, he played a leadership role on the acquisition team responsible for the $5.6 billion purchase of BOPCO’s assets primarily located in the Delaware Basin.

Gregory earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Energy Commerce from Texas Tech University and is a Certified Professional Landman.

Rodney Littleton has spent his entire career managing operations around the world, primarily focused on drilling and completions.

Prior to the formation of Freedom Energy, Littleton served as VP Operations for Flat Creek Resources where he managed all drilling and regulatory operations for the company.  Prior to Flat Creek, Littleton worked at Pioneer Natural Resources where he rose from Senior Drilling Advisor to Vice President of Permian Drilling and Completions.  Through his tenure, he was responsible for a range of activities, from deepwater exploration and development to international exploration and development to managing drilling and completion activities for various resource plays including those in the Midland Basin.

Prior to Pioneer, Littleton was a Senior Drilling Engineer for ARCO International and held various drilling, completion, and operational positions for Amoco Production Company, both internationally and domestically.

Littleton earned a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from the University of Missouri – Rolla.

John Wierzowiecki has significant operational experience with both horizontal unconventional and vertical conventional assets.

Prior to the formation of Freedom Energy, Wierzowiecki served as Operations Manager for Flat Creek Resources where he managed all completion, production and marketing operations for the company.  Wierzowiecki worked in similar capacities at Black Mountain Oil & Gas and Jetta Operating Company prior to joining Flat Creek.

Wierzowiecki started his career as a field engineer for BJ Services Company in Mineral Wells, TX working the Barnett Shale play and quickly gained experience in horizontal frac operations before joining Quicksilver Resources as a completions engineer.  He has held various completion, production and operations roles across multiple basins.

Wierzowiecki earned a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.
